WELCOME to the debut of a new generation of bass guitars designed by Ned Steinberger. NS FIN Basses are headless multiscale instruments that harness the latest advances in electric guitar technology. Conventional norms of style and construction are replaced by a vision of what is possible rather than what is known, resulting in instruments with extraordinary tonal range and playability, providing exciting new opportunities for musical expression and exploration.
The SCT6 FIN Bass Guitar is a Limited Edition model, fabricated entirely from carbon fiber composite, resulting in a structure that delivers extraordinary sonic properties characterized by long sustain, brilliant harmonics, well defined bass, and a rich, powerful midrange. Carbon fiber is unaffected by humidity and temperature variations, resulting in a durable instrument that will continue to perform at the highest level despite the rigors of the road and the passage of time.
This special model is made in Detroit, Michigan by Sankuer Composite Technologies, noted in the auto and music industry for producing carbon fiber products to the highest standard. Production from the SCT6 FIN Bass Guitar mold will be limited to twelve units, after which the mold will be permanently retired.
FIN Bass Guitar Highlights
The multiscale fret configuration increases the tension and clarity for the low strings while reducing the tension on the high strings for more supple string bending techniques. Due to the natural arc of the hand as it pivots from the elbow, playability is further enhanced by the fan-like fret geometry.
The FIN Bass Guitar is balanced so that when it is hanging on a strap the neck remains at whatever angle the player chooses without having to hold it in place. For playing while seated, a folding leg rest is placed so that the guitar is balanced for use with both the right and left leg.
The single pickup housing contains three individual dual coil hum canceling pickups by EMG™. A five way pickup selector allows the player to choose the neck pickup, the middle pickup, the bridge pickup, the bridge and the middle pickup, and all three pickups at once. Volume for each pickup is controlled by three low profile knobs located below each pickup so that the player can dial in the desired tone.
The instrument is powered with a preamp designed and fabricated for the FIN Bass by EMG. This high-performance circuit includes master volume, treble, and bass controls.
Low friction ball bearing tuners are easy to use, providing extremely precise and stable tuning with minimal finger pressure required. Action and intonation adjustments feature locking bridge saddles for added security and enhanced tonal response.
